Our story is rich with family heritage, featuring a grandmother, mother, and son who believe that “Life is nothing if not an adventure.” We come from a lineage of farmers who cultivated the land, missionaries who served their communities, explorers who charted new paths, inventors who dared to dream, and entrepreneurs who transformed visions into reality.

In our quest for the next family venture, we were drawn to the breathtaking Hocking Hills region. The rolling hills, dramatic caves, and pristine forests inspired us to create extraordinary spaces where families can forge their own connections with this enchanting place.read less

The Endersby Story in more detail:

Catherine’s journey begins in Lima, Ohio, where she was born in 1936 into a family deeply dedicated to service and community. With roots tracing back to her grandparents—missionaries from Altoona, Pennsylvania—who played a pivotal role in establishing a Mennonite Church in Duchess, Alberta, Catherine’s life was shaped by a rich tapestry of faith and commitment. It was during a visit to her grandparents’ church that she met Jack Endersby the youngest of a family, immigrated from England in the early history of the area. They married in 1954 and settled on Jack’s family farm near Duchess, where their story truly began.

Jack raised award winning polled Herford cattle and harvested wheat for 17 years.  Catherine was a homemaker and they raised 2 boys and 2 girls.  Evelyn is the eldest.

In 1971, motivated by a desire for quality education for their children, Catherine and Jack decided to return to Lima, enrolling their kids at Lima Christian Academy. As their daughter Evelyn graduated from Rosedale Bible College in 1978, she stepped into an entrepreneurial role, taking the reins of the family business—a long-term housing venture founded by her parents in 1973. Even while managing the business from afar in Alberta, Evelyn’s determination shone through. In 2002, she returned to Lima, eager to launch a new chapter with her own line of wholesale automotive chemicals, dubbed SelTec. With invaluable support from her son Jordan, she successfully marketed her products to new car dealerships across central Ohio and Indiana.

In 2006, Evelyn made an investment in Hocking County, purchasing a home near Lake Logan State Park. Here, she juggled the management of both her businesses with remarkable skill. In 2017, the family sold the long-term housing enterprise, enabling Catherine to retire and paving the way for new ventures. They reinvested the proceeds into developing Summit, Big Pine, and Frontier Cabins in the scenic Hocking Hills, with Jordan returning to contribute to the renovations and improvements.

Evelyn designed the architecture and the interior spaces of the masterpiece she calls Château Lake Logan.  It was completed in 2020 at the onset of the covid pandemic.  The first few months were a struggle, but then guests poured in from all over to take advantage of stays that met the requirements of those days.  The accommodations and outdoor activities including hiking gave people a way to enjoy this time of relative seclusion.  Prior to the Chateau’s completion, the family expanded their portfolio by acquiring two picturesque lakeside cottages—Bella Casa and Avalon Villa—enriching their offerings for guests. With a total of seven lakeside vacation rentals, they provide a range of amenities, including canoes and kayaks, ensuring every guest has a memorable experience.
