FAQ

We know that planning a trip to the Hocking Hills can be an involved process, and we have answered many questions over the years. Here are answers to some common ones, to help prepare for your stay.

FAQ

All of the cabins have drip coffee pots and we supply filters. Bring your own coffee unless you are staying at the Chateau Lake Logan in which case coffee, both regular and decaf, and cream and sugar are provided.

The Lake properties have perfect cell phone coverage. Additionally, your cell phone will work perfectly and have access to data. The Summit Lodge, Big Pine Lodge, And Frontier Cabin have no cell phone reception. If you are within the reach of the wi-fi signal at the Cabin, set your cell phone to use wi-fi for phone calls. We do not have a landline in any of our cabins since the wi-fi cell phone service works so well.

The Château, Loft, Avalón Villa and Bélla Casa have perfect high-speed Spectrum internet. At Summit, Big Pine, and Frontier we provide free satellite Wi-Fi, which is fast enough for most needs, including streaming video. Wi-fi can be used to make voice calls on your cell phone. Turn on Wi-Fi Calling on your phone.

Our kitchens should have everything you need for your stay. We provide all dishes, silverware, pots and pans, and utensils. Each Lodge has 2 drip coffee makers (we provide the filters). All other cabins have one drip coffee maker, and we provide the filters. Each cabin has a toaster, hand mixer, blender, crock pot, and the 2 lodges have an electric griddle in addition. All that said, if you are preparing a meal where a certain item is necessary, we recommend you bring it with you.

Spices, cooking oil, condiments, zip lock bags, aluminum foil, storage containers for food to take home. Walmart is just a few miles away if you forgot something you need.

Coffee, regular/decaf and cream/sugar, is supplied at The Chateau Lake Logan and Lake Logan Loft only.

Too much for us to list here! Hiking, canoeing, horseback and ATV riding, zip lining, and shopping are some of the more popular options. We have a pages dedicated to our suggestions.

The Summit Lodge, Big Pine Lodge, Frontier Cabin, Avalón Villa and Bélla Casa all have gas fireplaces. They are operable from Oct. 30th to March 1st.

We shut them off in the warmer temps so that heat and A/C can't be used at the same time.

The Château and Loft have electric fireplaces that may be used year-round for the atmosphere of it. The Château has great new technology that is so realistic, you may not even notice that it is not gas. The big advantage is year-round use and no exhaust which gives a headache to people with sensitivities.

ALL of our properties have WEBER or CHARBROIL gas grills and we provide the propane.

Follow the instructions to light that are in the Welcome Book.

The Big Pine Lodge, The Summit Lodge and Frontier Cabins are located near the intersection of Ohio 664-S and Big Pine Road.

Check out our location map.

(The location map is on the Contact Us page)

The Summit Lodge and Frontier Cabin are located on an infrequently-traveled, quiet township road and are definitely considered "secluded". The two properties sit on opposite sides of a five-acre parcel, with a densely-wooded hillside in between. The trees provide ample privacy during the months when leaves are on the trees.
Though each is somewhat visible from the other during the winter months, they are far enough apart to maintain a reasonable level of privacy. There are no other rental properties in the vicinity.

The Big Pine Lodge is located on a hill in the trees above a winding country road, away from other properties and also considered "secluded".

Bélla Casa, Avalón Villa, The Château Lake Logan and Lake Logan Loft are in a residential area on the lake. While they are private, they are not secluded.

The roads leading to our location, and the driveway, do not require special consideration unless there is significant snow or ice. The driveways are paved, and we have the best snow removal crew in the area, so you will be able to access it just fine in any vehicle, except in very severe snow or ice.

During severe winter weather, we do recommend 4-wheel-drive to access any property, as we don't have any control over the roads leading to our location.
