Although Hocking Hills isn’t particularly known for its wine cultivation or beer production, we still have plenty of options when it comes to your boozy preferences. Including a few here in Logan, we’ve created an extensive list of central Ohio wineries and breweries close to Cut Above Cabins for your convenience.

​If you have novinophobia—defined as the “fear of running out of wine” by the Hocking Hills Winery website—make sure to stop by for a tasting, just a 2-8 minute drive from your cabin. Don’t miss the Vidal Blanc, a white wine completely grown and produced in Ohio. Order a charcuterie board while you finish out your tasting with other classics like Pinot Noir, Riesling, Malbec, and more. If you love your tasting selections, get the wine shipped straight to your home, a luxury that not all central Ohio wineries offer.

Brewery 33 ​

Visiting Brewery 33 is a different experience every day. On some days, you can expect live music, and food trucks on other days. A few consistencies include their Penny Porter, with notes of caramel, toffee, raspberry, and vanilla, as well as the Whispering Cave IPA, with grapefruit, orange, and apricot. Otherwise, try the ever-changing experimental beer on tap, as well as the rotating beer cocktail if you’re feeling adventurous.

• Pleasant Hill Vineyards: You can’t pass up a $5 for five wine tasting deal, especially when they offer a Leland Red, a Catawba Grape rose, and a Stella Concord Red. Don’t miss out on their mouthwatering selection of appetizers, either.

• Loose Rail Brewing: This Canal Winchester Brewery’s flagship beers include the Dead Man’s Throttle IPA, a hazy beer with mango and lychee, the Full Steam Saison, with bitter orange peel, or the Aschat Amber, with butterscotch and caramel.
• Slate Run Vineyard: Try a few of their 17 wines such as the Premcess, a German-style white with intense fruit and spice flavors, the State Blanc Reserve, a dry, Chardonnay-style white, or the Slate Garnet, a red with long skin contact time during the production process.
• BrewDog: This popular UK brewery has migrated to the States, and lucky for us, accompanies our other central Ohio wineries and breweries. Play pinball and shuffleboard to space out your beer intake.
