If you’re an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking trails, the Hocking Hills Winter Hike is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the snow-covered paths throughout Hocking Hills State Park. January 21, 2023, Hocking Hills State park will be hosting their 58th annual six-mile hike through the park.

Take in the snow glistening from the trees as you hike to Cedar Falls, where lunch will be provided for each group. A warm bowl of bean soup, made in huge iron kettles, cornbread, and hot beverages to keep you warm. Once you have refueled, you will finish the winter hike at Ohio’s largest cave, Ash Cave. When you reach Ash Cave vehicles will be provided to drive you back to Old Man’s Cave if you decide not to hike back. At the end of your long hike in the cold, you can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate by the fire in our Frontier Cabin.

Finish your day in downtown Logan, Ohio at the 6th annual Logan Frozen Festival, for fun-filled winter activities. On January 21, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. you can walk around the beautiful ice sculptures lining Main Street, grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant or food truck, and join in on the ice games and entertainment. There will also be an iceless skating rink in the heart of this downtown winter wonderland, you won’t want to miss it!

There will also be pre-hike activities the night before, January 20th, including naturalist programs, games, and refreshments. Spend the weekend in one of our warm, comfortable cabins, like the Summit Lodge, and meet fellow hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Come out to Hocking County for a weekend full of free activities and enjoy the abundant wildlife, beautiful scenery, and stunning geological formations Hocking Hills State Park has to offer.
